Evening Classes

• Dates:

Enrolment:  Monday 6th September.
Classes commence:  Monday 13th September.

As part of the enrolment process we want to discuss with each person their learning, their plans for the next year and what classes are likely to be available. We will be taking a more assessed and directive approach to placing people in the various classes.

• It is intended that the following classes will be offered:

Absolute beginners: All in Irish, which will probably run just over the term and be repeated.

Beginners: For beginners who have prior knowledge of the language. This course will be based on "Now Your Talking", running over the year. This will be taught in English.

Intermediate: This will be a based on "Turas Teanga", running over the year. This will be taught in the greatest part in Irish.

A conversation class: For those with a greater ability who want to practice.

We will, depending on demand, look to provide two additional features. The first will be a grammar master class series, which will probably run on a different night and maybe different location. This might only be every month or fortnight - rather than weekly. Attendance at this will be conditional on a commitment to do independent study. It is likley to require an intermediate level of Irish.

For those students that wish to take the Teastas (TEG) exam, if there are sufficent numbers, we will look to organise a number of seperate weekend sessions, to make sure that all aspects of the exam course have been covered. Otherwise, they should attend either of the text book courses, depending on preference.

All of this will depend on numbers and student plans etc - so it might change.

Numbers in each class are likely to be limited, so priority will be given to people who have attended the enrolment sessions.
